A group of individuals who are working to set up a shared platform that enables small groups of people from the same place to set up club-like organisations. (One planet clubs – IPC.)These clubs are self-directing, and can use the power of their collective assets – skills, knowledge, physical assets – to assert the agency required to ensure their community thrives in a sustainable way. And to prepare the community to manage the many fallout risks from the lack of preparedness for climate system disruption including: food shortages, energy shortage, economic system breakdown and civil unrest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Local 1PPC in a nutshell<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
A 146 club has a local buying and sharing club as its foundation<\/p>\n\n\n\n
- 146 maximum members, all equal shares all giving equal rights<\/li>
- Shared assets, the better you look after it together, the better for all. <\/li>
- Examples:
- A purchasing marketplace (bulk buying, subscription, etc.)<\/li>
- A restorative justice court<\/li>
- A fund for house insulation<\/li>
- An investment company targeted at local entrepreneurs and giving extras to members<\/li>
- A common lobbying platform<\/li>
- Joint ownership of land and leasing it out<\/li>
- Joint property ownership<\/li>
- Mutual credit<\/li>
- Common tool, furniture, appliance, car etc pools<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

How come 1PPCs now?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nThe need for direct action has never been greater, and the ability, though IT, social media and the internet to locate planet appropriate solutions has never been greater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Why is this not like other things we have seen?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nOne major difference, apart from socratic principles, is the mutual Peer to Peer support construction. This means that each member is better served by the other being at the peak of their ability and that the main P2P role is to help members reach that capacity. One feature that promotes this is the mutually owned market – the more sold through the market the higher the common income.
